As we celebrate International Women's Day at this weekend's match against Walsall, FGR Women's captain Hattie Jones spoke to us about her footballing journey. This is Hattie's story, in her words. Growing up the daughter of a local coach, football has always been in my DNA. This weekend, we will be celebrating International Women's Day, and I am honoured to share my journey, which started in Gloucestershire, as part of the club's celebrations.

Matty Taylor is back at The New Lawn and is aiming to help FGR achieve promotion back to the third tier of English football. Rovers’ latest signing played for the club between 2011 and 2014, racking up 96 appearances. Now, the prolific forward has returned to Rovers with one target in his mind. Taylor is no stranger to promotion, having gone on to achieve back-to-back promotions with Bristol Rovers after leaving FGR in 2014.

Head of Women’s Football at FGR, Joe Manns, is relishing the opportunity of coaching in the Women’s FA Cup for the first time, as FGR prepare to make the trip to face Bridgwater United in the Third Round Qualifying on Sunday.
Bridgwater are currently one tier above Rovers, in the FA Women’s National League Division One South West.
